CLEANING
Water is not wood's best friend!  Never place wooden products in the dishwasher or leave them immersed in water.  If your wooden items need to be cleaned, follow these easy steps:

1. Place it briefly under warm running water
2. Lightly hand wash with soap
3. Rinse immediately
4. Wipe off all excess water and allow to fully dry.  

DISINFECTING
If you need to disinfect the wood beyond the normal cleaning, follow these simple steps:

1. Cut a lemon in half and use to wipe down the wood on each side. You can also use white vinegar (with a clean cloth) and wipe down the wood.
2. After either of these methods, rinse with warm water and dry.

LONG-TERM CARE
Over time, or after being in prolonged contact with water, wood can begin to feel "fuzzy" to the touch.  Follow these steps, if desired, to help maintain the original look and feel of your purchase.

1. Lightly sand with a 400 grit sandpaper to remove the "fuzzies.”
2.  Re-oil. Wipe down with walnut oil (recommended) or you may use linseed oil or another food-safe mineral oil.
